Being a Relief Teacher (RT) with Link Interac Group, Japan’s largest private provider of assistant language teachers (ALTs) to elementary, junior and senior high schools nationwide, means being ready to go anywhere, teach any type of class, at any time. It is a challenging and rewarding position that will expose a teacher to the full range of what it means to work in the public school system. All positions start in April 2018.More specifically, RTs work for one of Link Interac’s six regional company and are assigned to cover teaching assignments that are suddenly left open due to another teacher’s unplanned absence. RTs need to be comfortable and confident teaching any grade and level of students, sometimes without a lot of background information about the classes or curriculum before their first lesson. RTs can be expected to move at short notice anywhere within their regional company to provide teaching cover wherever necessary. Assignments can range from a few days to a few months, with housing provided when on an assignment that is too far away from their home to allow for commuting. An RT position is a great way to broaden your teaching experience and to work more closely with branch offices and staff. Many RTs have used the role as a springboard to a staff position. By clicking the “Apply Now” button you will be taken to a registration form where you can not only apply for this job, but also for managing consultant, management trainee, trainer and recruiter (with Link Japan Careers) using one simple form.
