All teaching candidates must be native English speakers and hold North American citizenship, as well as a degree from a North American university. We are a private section within the Lycée International--a prestigious French public school 25 miles west of Paris. Eighty percent of a student's education is in native-level French, with the remaining 20 percent with us--in native level English. We teach only two subjects--English literature and history. Our students read at the same level as students in the most competitive independent private schools in the US and our success rate for the rigorous French Baccalauréate is 100 percent.
Due to the close working relationship with our French-side colleagues, an effort to communicate in French is a necessity. In addition, the work schedule is such that we encourage candidates to live in the western suburbs of Paris, near the school.
We are interested in people who are professionals committed to the craft, are team players and yet who also embody the spirit of American teachers as being "fun." Extracurricular abilities are most encouraged and minimum five years' teaching experience required.
Applications that do not comply with the above criteria will not be considered.
